Shania Choir

All aboard the Twain train!

The first point to note about this show is that it is hot and sticky. But hey, how do you think Shania Twain felt wearing that leopard print get up anyway?

You’ll soon acclimatise and be treated to the first song of the show. It’s a classic, which sets the scene for the rest of the evening – through weakness and strength, happiness and sorrow… This show has it all.

Think glorious mash up of Shania Twain, Pitch Perfect and Glee. Each of the 14 choir members plays their own special part, and each has their own time to shine in leading the show.

Some are stronger than others vocally, and others are better at tickling that funny bone – they complement each other perfectly.

While treating you to their a cappella brilliance, the choir takes the audience through an honest and entertaining biography of Shania Twain’s life.

It includes intimate details from a time when Shania was actually named Eileen and wet herself singing in front of an audience, to the fact that her childhood was filled with hardships including poverty and domestic violence, which she overcome through music and song.

Shania Choir is surprisingly emotional at parts, but it bounces straight back with hilarious acts from the three males of the Shania choir, who aren’t shy to show off their non-Shania like bodies.

The show also features a good dose of female empowerment and subliminal messages on self respect. All in all, it’s a must see for Shania Twain fans.

If you’re the kind of person who is offended when a classic tune is butchered, fear not, this show will still have you in stitches. Shania Twain broke records for biggest selling artist of all time, and so should this show!
