Glittery Clittery: a conSENSUAL party

Bold, brilliant, and about to blow your mind, ‘Glittery Clittery: A ConSENSUAL Party’ is a rousing feat of musical prowess, political commentary, and razor sharp wit.
The three ladies of the ‘Fringe Wives Club’ take on the grim realities of womanhood, including the lack of pockets in women’s clothing, being verbally and physically harassed on trains, and dealing with ‘feminist f**k boys’ – turning them into show stopping, head bopping musical numbers that leave you both crying with laughter and crying at the structural oppression of women.
The triple threat trio of Rowena, Victoria, and Tessa lead the audience on a sequinned adventure through original musical numbers, spontaneous comedic riffs and a gameshow esque round of clitoris trivia.
The show is both side split-tingly funny and intensely poignant. Appropriately dubbed as #glamtivism, Glittery Clittery is unapologetically feminist and high energy from start to finish.
Each of the women inject their unique personalities and lived experiences into the show, making for a thoroughly engaging and relatable performance.
Although the show hits so very close to home for the women of the audience, it is not alienating for others.
Comedy has always been an excellent political tool and diffuser of tension, and the trio wield their tools expertly.
The song lyrics are smart and superbly written, the physical comedy is hysterical, and every demographic of the audience was completely enthralled.
It is not every day you see a show like this one, one that captures the essence of how performance can be powerful, moving, and joyous all at the same time.
How you can be furious at the systems of oppression within society, and yet also hopeful and dedicated to smashing them into pieces.
In a political climate where we can often feel hopeless and insignificant, Glittery Clittery is a must see show for every demographic.
And if you don’t really give a toss about politics, see it anyway, because it is downright hilarious.
