Award Winning Talent Who Are Back in 2020!

FRINGE WORLD is just overflowing with incredibly talented performers from our own backyard and around the world.

Each year, Fringe recognises the best of the best of the bunch with its own awards celebration at the end of the Festival.

Guess what? There is a range of 2019 winners who will be coming back to give us a second chance to experience their talents and some with a fresh new show!

Martin Sims Award

The talent on display in 2019 was so plentiful that the top tier gong, the Martin Sims Award, went to two shows!

YUCK Circus won everyone over with its humour and acrobatics while West Australian’s Youth Theatre Company’s (WAYTCO) REST offered something different and impressed everyone.

In 2020, we will be treated to more YUCKy goodness and WAYTCO is back with Body Rights, a new program of short works across two spaces at the Girls School.


The Cabaret Award winning ensemble of Yummy Deluxe are back with not one, but two shows: Yummy Unleashed blends outrageous drag and burlesque with scintillating choreography, while YUMMY UP LATE is the risqué part of the repertoire.

Golden Age Girls was crowned the WA winner of the Cabaret Award for making audiences cry from laughter and tapping their toes to some of the greatest music of all time and is back in 2020.


Comedy Award WA winner Umar Azad returns with more laughs about growing up in Australia to be a bogan Muslim with his hit stand up show Halal?.. Is it meat you’re looking for??

Tom Gleeson added FRINGE WORLD Comedy Award to his collection of accolades – including a Gold Logie! – and will deliver another hour of golden comedy with Lighten Up.


They are fierce, bold, utterly unstoppable and they are also award winners. Phat Cab Club took home the Circus Award for their exciting combination of a striking hip-hop soundtrack with world class skills.

Kids shows

Mr. Gorski has delighted audiences of all ages – and judges too who, awarded him the Children’s Event Award for dazzling families with his extraordinary tricks.

Have fun while learning with Children’s Event Award WA Winner Magnus’ Explosion Laboratory which has the most entertaining science demonstrations you will see outside a laboratory!


In 2019, Adam Hall and Adrian Galante wowed audiences and judges with their show The Great American Songbook, which secured them the Music & Musicals Award and in 2020 the talented duo are back with their own shows!

Adam Hall hits some nostalgic notes in The Music of Disney feat Adam Hall and the Velvet Playboys and funk and soul in Adam Halls Dance Party featuring free style MC Macshane.

Adrian Galante joins actress/singer Simone Craddock to explore the music of Eunice Wayman in Nina, Love Simone! and to honour some of the biggest blues hits in 100 Years of Crazy Blues.
