1. Buzzing About With The Bee Babette
Everyone is buzzing about the bee theme at this year’s Festival, with Fringe honouring bees native to WA during the biggest annual summer celebration.
Learn some fascinatingly sweet factoids about these magical creatures on a free guided tour with native bee expert, the Bee Babette!
2. Baba Yaga’s Dream Yurt
Experience a moment in the midst as you explore the world of stories and the subconscious mind. Each participant’s questions will be presented with a creative response by the two witnesses present.
Each visit takes about 10-minutes so you can have several goes or have plenty of time to explore other treats!
3. BitLit: Machine Poetry Corner
Computers and machines are getting increasingly sophisticated. But have you ever wondered if they could ever surpass the literary and creative skills of a human artist?
Engage in a dual of words with this ARTificial intelligence and find out if a machine can write poems and stories better than a human can. An intriguing experiment!
4. Freedom Fairies Face Painting
Fair maidens and Princes will feel right at home on weekends hanging out with some magical and talented fairies.
Step inside the fairy garden for an unforgettably magical time of face painting, henna, glitter and hair braiding for a small fee of treasure and the gift of being nice.
5. FRINGE WORLD Mermaids
Bring a towel down to the Splash Zone and chill out with Perth’s favourite FRINGE WORLD Mermaids!
Catch a kiss, hear a tale, have a chat or have a splashy fun afternoon when the weather is warm. This is a must see for any children who have not yet experienced the magic of the Festival.
6. Koorddansende Koekebakkers
Witness a love story told by “the rope dancing bakers” above ground level, suspended on tight rope, using the beauty of mechanics.
It is a unique experience that mixes circus skills with engineering devises to create a show that is full of surprises. And even a tasty treat!
