A FRINGE WORLD 2019 experience will not be complete without a trip into the fascinating mind of legendary surrealist artist Salvador Dali.
Making its Perth Fringe debut – the perfect platform for this immersive experience – Dali Land will take over Metro City for 30 days turning it into a four-level temple to all things fantastically bizarre.
This feast for the eyes and ears (and bellies – more on that in a sec) features more than 200 works of the provocateur’s works including drawings, sculptures, film, graphics, photography.
That is just the beginning.
Wander right into the maestro’s mesmerising visions with the award-winning virtual reality experience Dreams of Dali – we cannot wait to get lost in this one for a unique experience!
After you have treated your eyes and ears, treat the tastebuds with Dali Dinners modelled after the classic dinner parties Dali hosted in the 1970s – including his own recipes whipped up by local chefs!
Not enough surrealism for you? There is more! A secondary exhibition ‘Unconscious Contemporary’ puts contemporary surrealist and esoteric artists alongside historical work by Max Ernst, Jean Cocteau and Man Ray.
Night owls can relax from midnight til early morning at nightly soirees in the Surrealist Salon rooftop bar with special Dali-inspired cocktails, music, food and a host of other happenings designed to set your imagination on fire.
For a slight change of pace, Dali Land will host a nightly program of live events during Fringe including singer Lily Allen and the best of surrealist cabaret, burlesque and performance art.
